Directions

We are conveniently located in historic downtown Fairmont, off of I-79 less than 30 minutes from Clarksburg and Morgantown at Suite 500, 301 Adams Street on the fifth (5th) floor of the WesBanco Building. When entering the building, go through the revolving doors on the Adams Street side of the building or, for "no steps" access, go through the double glass doors on the drive-thru side of the building.* Our office is directly in front of the elevator bank on the fifth floor. We are pleased to be able to offer free, off-street parking to clients and visitors in the WesBanco customer parking lot as well as easy handicapped access.

* For easiest handicapped access, there is an automatic-open door feature available during bank lobby hours (M-F 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) on the bank lobby door entrance located on the Adams St. side of the building. To get to the elevator banks, go through the glass doors on the right-hand side of the bank lobby.

FROM I-79 EXIT 136 (DOWNTOWN FAIRMONT [CONNECTOR]):

  • From the end of the exit ramp to the intersection with Merchant Street, this route is approximately 1 mile or less. This is the most direct and quickest route to our office from the interstate; however, do not take this route if you dislike traffic circles.
  • Take Exit 136 (WV Rt. 273 - Downtown Fairmont).
  • If coming from the south (Clarksburg area) from I-79 North, bear right onto the exit ramp; toward the end of the exit ramp, get into the left lane of the exit ramp. At the stoplight at the end of the ramp, turn left onto WV Rt. 273 North toward Fairmont. Cross the Marion County Veterans Memorial Bridge. Go straight through the next stoplight (I-79 South/Clarksburg entrance ramp on your left).
  • If coming from the north (Morgantown area), from I-79 South, bear right onto the exit ramp; toward the end of the exit ramp, get into the left lane of the exit ramp. At the stoplight at the end of the ramp, turn left onto WV Rt. 273 North toward Fairmont.
  • Go straight through the next stoplight (Pleasant Valley Road/Blaine St.).
  • Go straight through the small traffic circle (Haymond St. South/Haymond St. North) at the next intersection.
  • Go straight through a second small traffic circle (Elkins St. South/Elkins St. North) at the next intersection.
  • The two lane road turns into four lanes going down the hill toward the next intersection. Get into the lane second from the right, which will go straight through the intersection.
  • At the intersection with Merchant Street at the stoplight at the bottom of the hill, go straight in the right lane over the Robert H. Mollohan (Jefferson Street) Bridge.
  • At the stoplight at the end of the bridge, go straight through the intersection (Washington Street) and up the hill. Keep in the right lane.
  • At the stoplight at the top of the hill, turn right onto Adams Street and get into the left lane as soon as safely possible. The Law Offices of Marci R. Carroll is located in the WesBanco Building, which is on the left side of the street approximately halfway down the block. (The WesBanco Building is the nine (9) story building with the time and temperature display on the top of the building and also at street level.)
  • Free, off-street parking is available for clients and office visitors in the WesBanco customer parking lot; this parking lot is accessed by turning left at the far end of the WesBanco building; please see the "Available Parking" sheet for alternate suggestions if there is no space available in the WesBanco customer parking lot.

FROM I-79 EXIT 132 (SOUTH FAIRMONT)**:

  • From the exit ramp to downtown, this route is approximately 5 miles and does not require turns. However, traffic on this route may be congested and add to travel time. Also, you may want to avoid this route around periods of heavy rain or frequent freezes and thaws as mud and rock slides occasionally occur on Route 250.
  • Take Exit 132 (South Fairmont).
  • If coming from the south (Clarksburg area), turn left onto U.S. Rt. 250 North. If coming from the north (Morgantown area), bear right on the ramp onto U.S. Rt. 250 North.
  • Follow U.S. 250 North (Fairmont Ave.) into historic downtown Fairmont.
  • As you near the downtown area on Fairmont Ave., notice the cross-streets are numbered, beginning with Twelfth Street out near Allegheny Power's administrative offices and Shop & Save (on your right at the top of the hill right after crossing a bridge), and decrease to First St. just as you enter the historic downtown area.
  • At the intersection of Fairmont Ave. with First St., continue straight across the Colonel George S. "Spanky" Roberts Bridge – this is the bridge with the elevator (tan structure with terra cotta roof) to the Mid-City parking lot under it.
  • At the end of this bridge, Fairmont Ave. intersects with Cleveland Ave., and Fairmont Ave. ends and Adams St. begins. Including the stoplight at the end of the Colonel George S. "Spanky" Roberts Bridge, go straight through three (3) stoplights (Cleveland Ave., Monroe St., and Jefferson St.).
  • At the third stoplight, the Marion County Courthouse will be on your left; the WesBanco Building is also on your left side at the beginning of the next block. (The WesBanco Building is the nine (9) story building with the time and temperature display on the top of the building and also at street level.)

Parking Options

WESBANCO CUSTOMER PARKING LOT
WesBanco Customer parking lot is adjacent to the WesBanco Building. This free, off-street parking lot is available on a first-come basis for clients and visitors to tenants of the WesBanco Building, including the Law Offices of Marci R. Carroll, as well as bank customers. (Do not let the bank customers only signs deter you.) There is a handicapped parking space which will accommodate a van in this parking lot on the far, right-hand side.

MADISON ST. PARKING GARAGE
This is a paid, unattended parking garage at the far end of Adams Street (Jackson Street end), 1 block away from our Law Offices and near the post office. Cost is 50¢ per hour or $2.00 for 4 or more hours, using an unattended pay system; upon exiting, you may pay in coins or paper money or by credit card.

UPTOWN PARKING
Uptown Parking is a private, attended lot. This gravel lot is located on the left side of Adams Street at the Monroe Street intersection. To enter, turn left at the intersection of Adams St. and Monroe St., then left into the lot entrance, wait for the attendant to park your vehicle. Cost is 75¢ per hour or $4.00 for all day; be prepared to leave your vehicle keys with the attendant and to pick them up before 5:00 p.m. (or have a spare set with you; they can lock the set that you give them in your car upon request).

ON-STREET PARKING
Parking on the main streets of downtown is metered. On Adams St., the meters are 25¢ per ½ hour, with 1 hour maximum time. Most of the cross street and other street (Monroe Street, Jefferson Street, Madison Street, Jackson Street, and Washington Street) meters are 25¢ per hour and have 2 hour maximum time limits. Please keep in mind that interrupting your appointment to "feed the meter" is disruptive and discouraged. Further, we have found that the 1 hour meters frequently do not allow sufficient time for initial consultations or appointments. On-street parking includes several designated handicapped parking spaces throughout the length of Adams Street but only up through the courthouse area. The on-street handicapped parking closest to the WesBanco Building is located in front of the Jefferson Street side of the Marion County Courthouse.
